The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for a full time, benefited Probation Officer located in the Probation Office. This position is responsible for supervising and maintaining a caseload of offenders who have been placed on court ordered probation, deferred prosecution, and diversion supervision. This position reports directly to the Director of Probation Services.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, psychology, social work, or another related field. One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education. Preference given to those applicants who have experience in Criminal Justice or a related field. The qualified applicant must have the ability to work with clients on a one-on-one basis with tact, diplomacy, and courtesy. Work cooperatively with court personnel and corresponding agencies. Must be able to work independently, address noncompliance with offenders, monitor client payments, and work well under pressure.
