Wakulla County Announces Outdoor Wakulla Living Expo

CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. – Wakulla County is pleased to announce the Outdoor Wakulla Living (O.W.L.) Expo, which will take place on October 14, 2023, at Hudson Park. Wakulla County, UF/IFAS Extension, and Visit Wakulla are partnering in hosting this event to showcase a range of outdoor activities, including beekeeping, gardening, hunting, paddling, fishing, foraging, and more. The O.W.L. Expo offers attendees the chance to discover a variety of outdoor activities that can be enjoyed right in their own backyard or anywhere across Wakulla County.
 
“This event is designed to encourage people to explore the outdoors and appreciate Wakulla’s natural beauty.” said Public Information Officer Kinsey Miller. “Our area is home to pristine waterways and forests, with hundreds of miles of biking, hiking, and paddling trails to explore, there is something for everyone.”
 
The O.W.L. Expo will feature outdoor recreation and educational vendors, hands-on experiences for children, food truck vendors, a one-hour workshop on introduction to beekeeping presented by the Apalachee Beekeepers Association, and a one-hour workshop on gardening presented by UF/IFAS Extension.
 
"The Outdoor Wakulla Living Expo will be a great opportunity to showcase all the wonderful natural spaces and outdoor activities Wakulla County has to offer,” said UF/IFAS Extension Director Samantha Kennedy, “This event will provide participants with a chance to learn more about how to safely explore all of Wakulla's beautiful natural resources in a fun, family-friendly way."
