The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time benefitted position of Golf and Grounds Maintenance Tech II.   

The Golf and Grounds Maintenance Tech II reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and provides daily maintenance and preparation of the local public golf course, athletic fields, and parks in Wakulla County under the supervision and direction of the Golf Course Superintendent. 

Responsibilities include: Performs litter control functions at the golf course and athletic fields. Mows Greens, Tees, Fairways, and Roughs as assigned on the golf course. Edges, Trims, and Rakes Bunkers on the golf course. Changes pins and moves tee markers at the golf course. Cleans and services water coolers on the golf course. Relocates and transports soccer goals, fencing, and nets for various sporting events. Prepares athletic fields for play, such as: lining, raking, dragging, and leveling. Mows baseball, softball, football fields, and common areas at the athletic facility. Cleans and organizes maintenance building interior and exterior weekly. Performs other maintenance-related duties as assigned at the golf course and athletic facilities. Assists with golf course and athletic fields projects as needed. Cleans and greases all machinery and equipment after each use. Reports machinery/equipment problems to superintendent or equipment mechanic. Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions and withstand the physical requirements of standing, walking, bending for long periods of time, and able to lift to 50 pounds. 

Qualified applicants must be 18 years or older, possess a high school diploma or its equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. Must be dependable and have good communication skills, have a minimum of one year experience in grounds/ golf course/ athletic field maintenance or landscaping.
