Wakulla County Commissioners and Staff Dedicated to Representing Citizens on 2023 Organizational Appointments
 
CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. – At the December 12, 2022, Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners meeting, commissioners and staff members received their 2023 organizational appointments. The appointments allow commissioners and staff to represent the interests of Wakulla County’s citizens by serving on committees for statewide, regional, and local organizations.
 
“Serving as a commissioner extends beyond the board and into all aspects of the community,” said Chairman Ralph Thomas, “It’s an honor to be the voice for our citizens on each of these committees.”
 
Chairman Ralph Thomas will serve as the representative for the Small County Coalition, Wakulla County Tourist Development Council, Wakulla County Audit Committee, Florida Association of Counties Access 67 County Champion, and alternate representative for the Gulf Consortium.
 
Vice Chairwoman Quincee Messersmith will serve as the representative for the Apalachee Regional Planning Council Executive Board, Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board, Capital Region Transportation Planning Agency, WakullaValue Adjustment Board, Wakulla County Canvassing Board, Career Source Capital Region Consortium, Capital Area Community Action Agency Board of Directors, and as the alternate representative for the Big Bend Continuum of Care.
 
Commissioner Chuck Hess will serve as the representative for the Small County Coalition, Wakulla State Forrest Liaison, Big Bend Scenic Byway, Wilderness Coast Public Libraries, and the alternate representative for the Apalachee Regional Planning Council Executive Board.
 
Commissioner Mike Kemp will serve as the representative for the Community Traffic Safety Team, Public Safety Coordinating Council, Juvenile Justice Circuit Advisory Board, Wakulla County Coalition for Youth, and alternate representative for the Capital Region Transportation Planning Agency.
 
Commissioner Fred Nichols will serve as the representative for the Value Adjustment Board, Big Bend Regional Partnership, Big Bend Continuum of Care Board, and alternate representative for the Wakulla County Coalition for Youth.
 
“I look forward to representing the citizens of Wakulla County and making a positive impact on our community while working with these organizations,” said Commissioner Nichols.
 
The Board of County Commissioners also appointed County Administrator David Edwards as representative for the Gulf Consortium, UF/IFAS Extension Director Samantha Kennedy as representative for the Department of Children and Families Circuit 2 Community Alliance, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs Michelle Metcalf as staff liaison for the Access 67 County Champion, and Tax Collector Lisa Craze as the alternate representative for the Canvassing Board.
