The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time benefitted position of Library Specialist in the Wakulla County Library Services department.

This position operates as the Library Infant and Children’s Specialist and will have full supervision of the Children’s area and is responsible for maintaining a quiet, safe, productive and attractive environment. This includes working directly with infants, children, and their parents or caregivers. In addition, the incumbent will work at the Circulation Desk as needed. This is a highly visible and responsible position. The selected candidate should present a positive image of the personality of the Library making all people feel welcome and accepted at the Library.

Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. A college degree in Library Science or Education from a four-year college or university is preferred; experience may substitute for the educational requirements. A minimum of 2 years of library experience is highly preferred. A good working knowledge of children’s books and literature is a must and experience working with children is also desired.
