CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. – The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners in conjunction with the Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4538, invites everyone to come out and salute our Veterans during the Annual Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

This year’s theme is “Honor and Service”. To kick off the day, Veterans and their families are invited to a breakfast at the Wakulla Community Center, 318 Shadeville Highway, at 7:30 a.m. The annual parade will begin around 10 a.m. where local participants and Veterans march down Crawfordville Highway showcasing troops, military organizations, school bands, County Government, and many others. Veterans are also encouraged to participate by walking in the parade or riding on the VFW float.

Shortly after the parade, the Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at the Wakulla County Community Center, at 11 a.m., with the posting of the colors by the Wakulla High School NJROTC Cadets. The Keynote Speaker for this year’s Ceremony is Chaplain Robert Sutton.  The event will include traditional military vehicle displays and Veterans Affairs, healthcare, and housing informational vendors. Following the ceremony, Veterans and their families are invited to join us at 11:30 a.m. for a box lunch provided by Mission BBQ.

Everyone is invited to come out and show support for our Veterans and enjoy a morning of fun activities and entertainment. All of these events are free and open to the public. For additional information related to these events, please contact Winston Murphy, Veteran Services Officer at (850) 926-1072.
