Volleyball Sand Courts

CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla – The Wakulla County Recreation Services Department is pleased to announce the addition of two new sand volleyball courts at Medart Recreation Park. The courts are officially open for play and available on a first-come-first-served basis and can be reserved for $25 per hour or $100 per day. The construction of barrier fencing and seating at the new courts is expected to be completed around September. Upon completion, this project will cost approximately $35,000 and will be funded by the One Cent Sales Tax.

“Wakulla County is dedicated to providing more recreation amenities and opportunities for our citizens to safely enjoy,” said County Administrator David Edwards, “local volleyball players and teams can utilize these home courts to practice, play, and host tournaments.”

The County also has plans for additional improvements at Medart Recreation Park including upgrades to the Field #1, #2, and #3 Complex. The upgrades will include burying utilities and improving drainage to the complex, field lighting, accessibility, and landscaping. Likely future improvements to the park may also involve the construction of a trailhead for the Capital City to the Sea Trail, extra parking, an open-air pavilion, bicycle racks, an informational kiosk, bathrooms, and water stations.
