Wakulla County Announces Plans for Future Parking Improvements for Rock Landing Road

Rock Landing Parking_Proposed Plan

WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla – This week, Wakulla County announced plans to improve parking on Rock Landing Road in Panacea. Parking improvements will include the addition of fencing and signage to reconfigure the flow of the boat ramp parking area. Additional parking improvements may include the construction of forty general parking spaces along Rock Landing Road which will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners at a future meeting.

“Wakulla County staff are aware of parking concerns surrounding Rock Landing and are actively working with the owner of the Marina to address the availability of general parking and ensure visitors park in appropriate parking zones,” said County Administrator David Edwards, “We are dedicated to improving general parking so that everyone can enjoy our waterfront facilities and businesses on Rock Landing Road.”

Staff from the Parks and Facilities Management Department will be at Rock Landing this weekend to assist with increased boat ramp traffic associated with the opening of red snapper season on Friday, June 17, 2022. The Department would like to remind the public that truck and trailer parking zones at County-owned boat ramps remain reserved for boaters who have paid a Daily Use Boat Ramp Fee or have an active Annual Boat Launch Permit. Parking violators may be towed or fined up to $100.

The Daily Use Boat Ramp Fee is $5.00, and the Annual Boat Launch Permit is $40.00 or discounted to $25.00 for senior citizens, active military and veterans, persons with disabilities, and commercial boats. The Annual Boat Launch Permit includes access to all boat ramps owned by Wakulla County for one year and is available for purchase at the Parks and Facilities Management Department (322 Shadeville Highway), or at one of the following locations: Crum’s Mini Mall (Panacea, FL); Marshall Spears Inc. (Medart, FL); Rocky's Wakulla (Medart, FL); or the Wakulla County Tax Collector’s Office (Crawfordville, FL).
