Maintenance Worker – Corrections Certified
Recreation Department

The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time (30 hours per week), benefitted position of Maintenance Worker in the Recreation Department. Ability to operate light equipment and lift 45 lbs. are required.

Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and one (1) year of semi-skilled maintenance work. Responsibilities include all facets of park maintenance including preparing fields for athletic activities; installing turf and seed; maintaining equipment and recreational facilities; litter control; cleaning of restrooms; periodically operate light equipment and performing preventative maintenance; complete reports and periodically interact with the general public. Weekend work will be required. Will work under the general supervision of the Recreation Director.

This position is required to be Corrections Certified. The selected candidate may be permitted to obtain the certification within 12 months of employment if necessary.
