AMENDMENT TO THE WAKULLA COUNTY RESTORE ACT INITIAL MULTI-YEAR IMPLEMENTATION PLAN AVAILABLE FOR
PUBLIC COMMENTS

Crawfordville, FloridaOn June 17, 2019, the Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved releasing the first amendment to its RESTORE Act Initial Multi-Year Implementation Plan (MYIP) for a 45-day public comment period.   The MYIP is the County’s plan for spending RESTORE Act grant dollars allocated to Wakulla County, which is around $13 million paid out over a 15-year period.  All RESTORE Act funds are held by the US Treasury and awarded to the County on a cost-reimbursement basis through a federal grant process for projects in an accepted MYIP.

This first amendment to the Initial MYIP is seeking to amend the original scope of the Otter Creek WWTP Retrofit – Train 1 to include pre-award costs in the amount of $146,528.00 for expenses incurred by the County for engineering services on the project.  A new project is also being added seeking $2.6 million to retrofit Lift Station #76 located on US Coastal Highway/US 98.  This project is needed to improve the lift station’s capacity to handle increased wastewater due to the expansion of central sewer into Wakulla Gardens and Magnolia Gardens as well as future residential and commercial connections to central sewer.

The proposed Amendment #1 to the Initial MYIP is posted on the County’s RESTORE Act Webpage and the County is seeking written public comments on the AMENDMENT #1 TO THE INITIAL MYIP beginning at 8:00 AM EST, THURSDAY, JUNE 27, 2019, and ending at 5:00 PM EST, MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 2019.    Public comments must be written and received no later than 5:00 PM EST Monday, August 12, 2019, either by e-mail at
RESTOREMYIP@MYWAKULLA.COM or US mail to Wakulla BOCC, Attention:  MYIP, PO Box 1263, Crawfordville, Florida 32327.
