No - the water from fire hydrants or from a tanker truck is not suitable for swimming or bathing.
There is a fire hydrant spilling water in my neighborhood - who do I report that to?
Fire hydrants are owned and operated by municipal water providers (Talquin, City of Tallahassee, City of Sopchoppy, or Panacea Water). Often these providers will open hydrants and allow them to run in order to flush the water lines of sediments or impurities. However, if you are concerned, please contact your local water authority.
