The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners recently adopted Resolutions setting the preliminary rates and establishing public hearings to consider imposing special assessments for Fire Protection Services and Solid Waste Services on the 2010 tax bill.
The County will begin mailing letters to property owners on August 19, 2010 to notify them of the proposed assessments and to advise the public of hearings for final adoption of the Fire and Solid Waste Special Assessments to be held on September 9, 2010 at 6:00p.m. at the Wakulla County Community Center, 318 Shadeville Highway. The purpose of the public hearings is to allow citizens to provide comments on the proposed assessments.

Notice of Public Meeting . . . The Wakulla County Value Adjustment Board will hold an Organizational Meeting on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Commission Chambers, 29 Arran Road, Crawfordville, Florida.
The Wakulla County Health Department needs your help. In partnership with the Apalachee Center for Community Mental Health, Disc Village, and others, a survey of key leaders, providers and families is being conducted between now and September 10. The completely anonymous survey is intended to focus attention on the consequences of mental illness and substance abuse in Wakulla County. The data will be analyzed by Florida State University and used to guide policy decisions, funding requests, and needs and gaps analysis in the provision of services to those impacted by mental illness and substance abuse. Your honest answers to a few questions is essential to a clear understanding of needs in Wakulla County.
