Commissioner Thomas is a graduate of Wakulla High School, class of 1984. He is married to Cynthia Thomas and has three children, Caleb, Holly, and Bethany. He attends Wakulla Springs Baptist Church.

He is currently employed by AmeriFirst Home Mortgage. He has worked in the mortgage industry in Wakulla County since 1999. From 1997 to 1999, he was an Associate Engineer at Talla-Comm Industries in Tallahassee. From 1985 to 1997, he was a Sonar Technician and Electronics Technician in the US Navy, earning the rank of Chief Petty Officer (E-7).

He previously served on numerous local committees and organizations including: Wakulla County Value Adjustment Board, Wakulla County One Cent Sales Tax Committee, Wakulla County Citizens Advisory Task Force, Wakulla County Republican Executive Committee, Wakulla Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Wakulla Economic Development Council, Wakulla Christian School board, Wakulla Springs Baptist Church Administrative Ministry Team, Habitat for Humanity.

Commissioner Thomas made the following commitment to the citizens of Wakulla County:

Serve you, and be accessible to discuss issues that are important to you!

Make sound decisions that reflect the standards set by the community, only after gathering and weighing all of the facts!

Work to ensure that every tax dollar is spent efficiently on items that promote the services desired by our citizens!

Strive to reduce taxes!

Refrain from incurring additional debt and will seek every opportunity to reduce the current debt load!

Insist that we build an Emergency Fund that will not be used to pay for non-emergencies between budgets!

Remember that Freedom belongs to the people and should not be infringed upon by the Government!
